The victim died at the scene. According to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mk.npu.gov.ua\/news\/pozbavyv-zhyttia-syna-u-bashtanskomu-raioni-politseiski-zatrymaly-cholovika-za-pidozroiu-u-skoienni-vbyvstva\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mykolaiv Region Police<\/a><\/strong>, the <strong>65-year-old<\/strong> man was detained and notified that he was suspected of intentional murder.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect\u2019s <strong>40-year-old<\/strong> wife reported her son\u2019s murder to the police. The following immediately arrived at the scene:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an investigative and operational team;<\/li>\n<li>officers from <strong>Police Department No. 1 of the Bashtanka District Police Department<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>a forensic laboratory;<\/li>\n<li>a forensic medical expert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the circumstances established by police, the family was celebrating the father\u2019s birthday. While drinking alcohol, an argument broke out between him and his son. The man went into another room, picked up a shotgun, and fired at his son. The shot struck the neck and torso, and the victim died at the scene from his injuries. The father then left the shotgun in the yard and returned to the house.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators detained the man under <strong>Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. Under the procedural supervision of the <strong>Kazanka Department of the Bashtanka District Prosecutor\u2019s Office<\/strong>, he was notified that he was suspected under <strong>Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 intentional murder. The man faces up to <strong>15 years<\/strong> in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Police seized <strong>two shotguns<\/strong> at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that <strong>one<\/strong> of them was used to fire the fatal shot. Law enforcement officers are still establishing the origin of the unregistered firearm.<\/p>\n<p>The court will decide on a preventive measure for the detainee soon.
