On <strong>October 9<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/mykolaivrada\/27197\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mykolaiv City Council<\/a><\/strong> reported on how the safety system works.<\/p>\n<p>If an emergency occurs while a vehicle is in motion, the driver presses the button. Officers from the <strong>Security Police<\/strong> respond and help resolve the conflict. According to the city council, the response time is <strong>up to 5 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All teams of inspectors from <strong>Mykolaivelectrotrans Municipal Enterprise<\/strong> are also equipped with emergency buttons. They use them when disputes arise over fare evasion.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement officers named the most common reasons for calls:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fare evasion;<\/li>\n<li>public disturbances caused by intoxicated passengers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cSafety on public transport is extremely important to us, which is why our municipal enterprises work with the <strong>Security Police<\/strong>. We commissioned these particular services. Every trolleybus, tram, and bus in the city, as well as our inspectors, is equipped with a button to call a special response team. I thank the police officers for their work and for helping us feel safe on public transport, and our transport workers for their daily efforts,\u201d said Mykolaiv Mayor <strong>Oleksandr Sienkevych<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As an example of how effective the system is, the city council cited an incident on <strong>September 24<\/strong>, when a group of young people <a href=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/en\/2026\/09\/619099\/teenager-opened-fire-on-a-passenger-in-a-mykolaiv-trolleybus-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">used an air pistol during a conflict on a trolleybus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the city council, the driver immediately pressed the emergency button and called the <strong>Security Police<\/strong>. Its officers detained <strong>one<\/strong> of the attackers.
