These expenses cover not only the parliamentarian\u2019s salary, but also funding for their work, housing, travel, and assistants.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>2026<\/strong>, the base salary of an ordinary MP is <strong>UAH 33,280<\/strong>. Allowances increase actual payments, however: the average MP\u2019s salary reached <strong>UAH 60,892<\/strong> per month in <strong>2025<\/strong>. The highest-paid member of parliament was <strong>Verkhovna Rada<\/strong> Speaker <strong>Ruslan Stefanchuk<\/strong>, who received approximately <strong>UAH 94,000<\/strong> per month.<\/p>\n<p>Additional payments may be awarded for, among other things, workload, academic degrees, titles, and access to state secrets.<\/p>\n<p>Separate from salaries, the following monthly payments and funds for MPs\u2019 work are provided for in <strong>2026<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The so-called parliamentary allowance \u2014 <strong>UAH 199,680<\/strong> to support an MP\u2019s work. This payment used to be about <strong>three times<\/strong> lower.<\/li>\n<li>Housing rental reimbursement in <strong>Kyiv<\/strong> \u2014 up to <strong>UAH 20,150<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Travel funds for trips within <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>UAH 7,500<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Funding for the salaries of parliamentary assistants and consultants \u2014 over <strong>UAH 145,000<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During <strong>2025<\/strong>, <strong>114<\/strong> members of parliament received housing rental reimbursement. These payments cost the budget approximately <strong>UAH 25 million<\/strong> in total.<\/p>\n<p>Another separate payment is compensation for unused vacation days. Some MPs declared receiving more than <strong>UAH 500,000<\/strong> in compensation. The largest amount went to <strong>Serhii Minko<\/strong>, who received <strong>UAH 580,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, attendance affected salary payments. In <strong>2025<\/strong>, <strong>seven<\/strong> MPs received no parliamentary salary at all because they were completely absent from work. Another MP, who regularly missed sessions, received an average salary of just <strong>UAH 904<\/strong> per month.<\/p>\n<p>For some elected officials, their parliamentary salary accounts for only a small share of their total income. For example, according to <strong>Petro Poroshenko\u2019s<\/strong> declaration for <strong>2025<\/strong>, his salary in the <strong>Verkhovna Rada<\/strong> amounted to just <strong>0.04%<\/strong> of his annual income.<\/p>\n<p>However, for most of the MPs whose income could be analyzed, salaries and reimbursements made up a much larger share: for <strong>309<\/strong> out of <strong>381<\/strong> parliamentarians, they accounted for more than <strong>half<\/strong> of their declared income.<\/p>\n<p class=\"korabelov-inline-photo\"><a
