According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/kiis.com.ua\/?lang=ukr&amp;cat=reports&amp;id=1638&amp;page=1\">survey<\/a> by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), <strong>53%<\/strong> of respondents believe that the head of state should limit himself to one current term. At the same time, <strong>42%<\/strong> of those surveyed think Zelensky should participate in the next elections and seek a second term. Another <strong>5%<\/strong> were undecided.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Ukrainians\u2019 attitude to holding the elections themselves now differs from the question about the possibility of a second term for the president. <strong>71%<\/strong> of respondents believe that elections are not timely at the moment and should be held after the end of the war. Holding the elections now is supported by <strong>24%<\/strong>, and another <strong>4%<\/strong> were undecided.<\/p>\n<p>The KIIS survey was conducted <strong>12\u201321 September 2026<\/strong> using telephone interviews. It included <strong>1002<\/strong> Ukrainian citizens aged <strong>18 and over<\/strong> who at the time of the survey were residing in territories controlled by the government of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>KIIS also noted that the share of those who believe Zelensky should limit himself to one term increased compared with <strong>December 2025<\/strong> \u2014 from <strong>46%<\/strong> to <strong>53%<\/strong>.
