President <strong>of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong> said he is confident in that timeline and spoke about his recent contact with representatives of the company <strong>Fire Point<\/strong>, which is developing the missile.<\/p>\n<p>The head of state urged the developer to speed up work on the longer-range system. He put his demand like this:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cI told them (<strong>Fire Point<\/strong>. \u2014 ed.): where is my <strong>FP-9<\/strong>? We need the <strong>FP-9<\/strong>. And the <strong>FP-9<\/strong> will be ready this autumn, I\u2019m sure,\u201d said <strong>Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier company representatives said it would have a much greater range. At the same time, a significant portion of the system\u2019s parameters has not yet been officially disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Among the declared characteristics of the <strong>FP-9<\/strong> are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>engagement of targets at distances up to <strong>850\u2013855 kilometers<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>a warhead weighing up to <strong>800 kilograms<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>a speed of about <strong>2.2 km\/s<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>launch from a mobile ground launcher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Ukrainian development is compared to the American <strong>ATACMS<\/strong> missile and the Russian <strong>Iskander-M<\/strong>. However, the stated parameters may still be refined as tests are completed and information is officially released.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, the president spoke about another domestic ballistic missile \u2014 <strong>FP-7<\/strong>. According to him, this week <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> reported its combat use for the first time.
