During the conflict, <strong>one<\/strong> of the attackers fired toward her <strong>38-year-old<\/strong> husband and wounded him in the abdomen. The victim was hospitalized, and both suspects were located and detained within a few hours.<\/p>\n<p>The victim&#8217;s wife reported the shooting on the roadway to police station <strong>No. 4 of the Mykolaiv District Police Department<\/strong>. According to her, two unknown individuals threatened her with physical violence and demanded not only money but also the vehicle registration certificate for a vehicle that belongs to her father.<\/p>\n<p>After the shots, the men got into a <strong>Volkswagen Transporter<\/strong> and fled. Medics transported the wounded man to the hospital with an abdominal injury. Doctors assess his condition as moderate. At the crime scene, police seized <strong>four<\/strong> spent casings.<\/p>\n<p>The search for the attackers involved:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>officers from the local police station;<\/li>\n<li>operatives of the <strong>Criminal Investigation Department<\/strong> and the <strong>Mykolaiv District Police Department<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>specialists from the <strong>Criminal Analysis Department of the Mykolaiv Oblast Police<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In particular, using available surveillance cameras, police determined the vehicle&#8217;s route within several hours, found it, and identified the persons involved in the attack. They turned out to be residents of the <strong>Bashtanka district<\/strong> aged <strong>30<\/strong> and <strong>36<\/strong>. The vehicle was stopped in another settlement of the <strong>Mykolaiv district<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During an urgent search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers found and seized an object resembling a pistol and <strong>two<\/strong> cartridges. The men were detained in accordance with <strong>Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. As the police note, both had previously come to the attention of law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Under the procedural leadership of the <strong>Mykolaiv District Prosecutor&#8217;s Office<\/strong>, the detainees were notified of suspicion under <strong>Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. This concerns extortion of another&#8217;s property or the right to it by threatening violence against the victim or their close relatives, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy under martial law.<\/p>\n<p>The court has already chosen preventive measures for the suspects, but the type was not specified in the police report. For the charged crime, the men face up to <strong>12 years<\/strong> in prison with confiscation of property.
