The preliminary estimate of damage to the state is over <strong>one million hryvnias<\/strong>. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/mk.npu.gov.ua\/news\/zavdav-zbytkiv-derzhavi-na-ponad-milion-hryven-na-mykolaivshchyni-politseiski-vykryly-rybalku-na-nezakonnomu-lovi-rakiv-ta-ryby\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mk.npu.gov.ua<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The fisherman was discovered last night, <strong>October 1<\/strong>, during a river patrol. This was reported by the <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast Police<\/strong>. According to them, the man caught more than <strong>300 crayfish<\/strong> and <strong>11 fish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For underwater fishing he used the following equipment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a wetsuit, mask and snorkel;<\/li>\n<li>a vest and a belt with additional weights;<\/li>\n<li>a homemade underwater speargun with a flashlight;<\/li>\n<li>a net.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The police explained what happened to the catch and equipment:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\"><p>\u201cLaw enforcement officers and staff of the fish protection service released the illegal catch back into the river. Investigators also seized the equipment the fisherman used.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On the fact of illegal engagement in fishing, hunting or other extractive occupations, the police opened a criminal case under <strong>part 1 of Article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. The prescribed punishment is up to <strong>three years\u2019<\/strong> restriction of liberty.
