According to the <strong>Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor&#8217;s Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region<\/strong>, this concerns the illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit during martial law.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecutor&#8217;s office, a <strong>32-year-old<\/strong> man who was drafted into military service under mobilization decided to sell the humanitarian vehicles in <strong>July 2025<\/strong>. He sought buyers through listings on a popular online platform.<\/p>\n<p>The following SUVs were put up for sale:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>two Mercedes-Benz ML 270 CDI<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Renault Koleos<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>BMW X5<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A man who was looking for a vehicle for military needs responded to the listing. When he learned that the seller was trading humanitarian property, he contacted law enforcement. Afterwards, the buyer acted under their supervision.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place at a service station. There, the serviceman offered to hand over the entire set of vehicles with documents for <strong>$21,800<\/strong>. <strong>On August 1, 2025<\/strong>, after the transfer of money, keys and documents, law enforcement arrested the seller.<\/p>\n<p>The court sentenced the serviceman to <strong>5 years of imprisonment<\/strong>, but released him from serving the primary punishment by establishing a <strong>three-year probationary period<\/strong>. He was also banned for <strong>3 years<\/strong> from holding positions and engaging in activities related to the handling of humanitarian, charitable, and volunteer aid.<\/p>\n<p>The seized vehicles will be transferred to a military unit by court decision for the performance of combat missions. The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the <strong>Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region<\/strong>.
