In Mykolaiv<\/strong>, a court sentenced a woman who started a conflict with another shopper in an \u00abATB\u00bb<\/strong> store and then struck her several times. For intentional minor bodily injury, the defendant was given a 850 hryvnias fine<\/strong>. This is stated in the court verdict,<\/a> published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on the evening of July 7, 2026<\/strong> in a store on Yevhen Lohinov Street, 38\/2<\/strong>. As the court established, at about 22:15<\/strong> a dispute arose between the two women near the checkout.<\/p>\n

The accused, who was intoxicated<\/strong>, came to the checkout with her son and placed her items in front of the other woman’s purchases. After a remark was made, a verbal altercation ensued. During the conflict, according to the case materials, the woman grabbed the victim by the arm, pulled her closer and struck her on the head with her palm at least three times<\/strong>. After that she grabbed the other arm and pulled forcefully. The victim was recorded as having abrasions on the face, neck and both upper limbs, as well as bruises<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the defendant told the court a different version of events. According to her, the conflict escalated into a fight in which she and her son were on one side, and the victim and her boyfriend on the other. The woman stated that the victim’s boyfriend shot and hit her son in the eye<\/strong>. After that the victim ran out of the store. Seeing blood on her son, the accused, she said, ran after the woman and struck her again. The defendant also noted that she does not remember whether she squeezed the victim’s neck with her hands<\/strong>, but did not rule out that this may have happened.<\/p>\n

The event was recorded by the store’s surveillance cameras. The recording for the period from 22:15 to 23:00<\/strong> was attached to the criminal case materials. A forensic medical examination established that the injuries sustained by the victim belong to the category of minor bodily injuries<\/strong>. The expert noted that they could have been caused by at least four to five blows with blunt hard objects<\/strong>, including hands or feet.<\/p>\n

The victim also told the court that after the conflict she was diagnosed with a concussion and contusion of the soft tissues of the head<\/strong>. She underwent outpatient treatment. At the same time, the forensic medical examination did not take this diagnosis into account when determining the severity of the injuries, because it was not confirmed by objective clinical and radiological data.<\/p>\n

The accused fully admitted her guilt and expressed remorse<\/strong>. She had no prior convictions, is married and has a minor child to support.<\/p>\n

The victim confirmed the circumstances of the conflict and asked the court not to impose a harsh sentence<\/strong> on the woman. She did not file any material or moral claims against the accused.<\/p>\n

The court found the woman guilty under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2014 intentional minor bodily injury<\/strong>. As a result, she was given a fine in the amount of 50 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens \u2014 850 hryvnias<\/strong>. The verdict may be appealed within 30 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
