The case was reported by the <strong>Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor&#8217;s Office<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>2022<\/strong> the woman&#8217;s daughter went to <strong>Italy<\/strong> and got a job there. She decided to save part of her earnings in a deposit account in <strong>Ukraine<\/strong>, so she asked her mother to open a foreign-currency deposit and began sending her money.<\/p>\n<p>The mother assured her daughter that the account was already opened and that the transferred funds would be kept there. The investigation believes that in fact she never intended to place the money in a deposit.<\/p>\n<p>Overall the daughter transferred about <strong>8,000 euros<\/strong>. At the exchange rate of the <strong>National Bank of Ukraine<\/strong> applicable at the time of each transfer, this amounted to more than <strong>330,000 hryvnias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The money did not end up in the deposit account.
