September 25<\/strong> combined in the history of Mykolaiv<\/strong> shipbuilding, wartime events and long-awaited changes for the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>. On this day in 1895<\/strong> a society was founded from which the “Naval” plant grew, in 2022<\/strong> a Russian missile exploded near an apartment building in Korabelnyi, and in 2024<\/strong> the city finally approved a trolleybus route to the district.<\/p>\n

September 25, 1895<\/strong>: a society was founded from which the “Naval” plant grew<\/h2>\n

In Brussels<\/strong> Belgian entrepreneurs G.Ya. Francois<\/strong> and E.K. Delua<\/strong> founded<\/a> the “Anonymous Society of Shipyards, Workshops and Foundries in the city of Mykolaiv”. The shipbuilding plant created by the society was commissioned in October 1897<\/strong>. The enterprise became known as “Naval”, and later as the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant, one of the main centers of shipbuilding in Mykolaiv<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

September 25, 2022<\/strong>: a missile struck near an apartment building in the Korabelnyi District<\/h2>\n

On the night of September 25, 2022<\/strong> Russian forces shelled Mykolaiv<\/strong> with S-300 missiles, one of which hit the ground near a multi-storey building in the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>. The blast wave damaged the building, and two elderly people<\/strong> were trapped in an apartment \u2014 rescuers extricated them. Residential buildings and water supply networks were also damaged. No dead or injured were found at the scene.<\/p>\n

September 25, 2024<\/strong>: trolleybus route to the Korabelnyi District approved<\/h2>\n

The executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council adopted<\/a> a decision on a new trolleybus route from the railway station via Prospekt Myru, Kosmonavtiv Street, Bohoyavlenskyi Prospect and Prospekt Korabeliv to Aivazovskyi Street. Already on October 4, 2024<\/strong> in Mykolaiv<\/strong> they launched<\/a> route No. 10<\/strong>, and the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>, after more than 30 years<\/strong> of discussions, received direct trolleybus connection to other parts of the city.<\/p>\n

September 25, 2025<\/strong>: a massive drone attack cut power to part of the railway<\/h2>\n

On the night of September 25, 2025<\/strong> Russian forces massively attacked the Mykolaiv region<\/strong> with strike drones. Korabelov.info reported<\/a> damage to an infrastructure facility and power outages on certain sections of the railway. The region recorded 2 hits<\/strong> and 19 downed enemy UAVs<\/strong>. According to preliminary information, people were not injured.<\/p>\n

September 25, 1914<\/strong> near Syanok saw the first battle of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen: Osyp Semeniuk\u2019s sotnia clashed with a mounted detachment of Kuban Cossacks and won. And on September 25, 1992<\/strong> the final section of the Main\u2013Danube Canal was opened \u2014 since then a continuous navigable waterway almost 2900 km<\/strong> long between the North Sea and the Black Sea has existed.<\/p>\n

Such was September 25<\/strong> for Mykolaiv<\/strong> and the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>: from the beginning of a great shipbuilding history to the arrival of long-awaited electric transport and wartime events that have already become part of the city\u2019s recent history.<\/p>\n
