In Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region<\/strong> a passenger electric train ran over a 78-year-old<\/strong> local resident. The man died at the scene from his injuries. This was reported on 21 September 2026<\/strong> by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.<\/p>\n

The tragedy occurred in the evening of 19 September 2026<\/strong> at the 144th kilometer<\/strong> of the railway track of the “Holta – Orlyk<\/strong>” section in Pervomaisk<\/strong>. At approximately 19:00<\/strong> the Pervomaisk district police department received a report that a passenger electric train on the “Odesa – Podilsk – Pomichna<\/strong>” route had struck a man. The victim was a 78-year-old<\/strong> local resident. He died at the scene as a result of his injuries. An investigative-operational team from the Pervomaisk district police department and a forensic expert worked on the railway. After the examination, the body of the deceased was sent for a forensic medical examination. Its results are expected to establish the final cause of the man’s death.<\/p>\n

Investigators classified the incident under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> – violation of safety rules for the operation or use of railway, water or air transport that caused the death of people. The article’s penalty provides for up to 10 years<\/strong> imprisonment. So far, the police have not reported suspicions against anyone – law enforcement continues to establish the causes and all circumstances of the tragedy.<\/p>\n
