In Mykolaiv<\/strong>, road crews of KP \u00abELU avto dorih\u00bb<\/strong> were redirected to clean and service the stormwater drainage. The enterprise reports that the city’s drains and main collectors have been prepared for the autumn rains.<\/p>\n

The main object was the strategic collector No. 13<\/strong>, which the enterprise took on its balance last year<\/strong>. It was clogged by 90%<\/strong> and diverts rainwater from a large area \u2014 from the Mykolaiv freight railway station \u00abMykolaiv-Vantazhny\u00bb<\/strong> to Industriyalna Street<\/strong> and the Namiv<\/strong> neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The director of KP \u00abELU avto dorih\u00bb<\/strong>, Vitaliy Shevchenko<\/strong>, explained on the air of the TV channel \u00abMART\u00bb<\/strong> that the road crews were reoriented due to the inability to lay large volumes of asphalt.<\/p>\n

This year, because we did not have the opportunity to lay large volumes of asphalt, all road crews were directed specifically to reinforce the stormwater drainage and to clean the city\u2019s roads. Of the three kilometers<\/strong> of the channel of collector No. 13<\/strong>, we have already gone through approximately 1.2 km<\/strong>. We are removing all the silt both with excavators and manually. We have already removed 1,750 cubic meters<\/strong> of silt. Recent rains have shown that the collector works and works quite well.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The clearing of collector No. 13<\/strong> continues constantly. To complete the full cycle of work will take at least another half a year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the enterprise services the collector in the \u00abDormashyny\u00bb<\/strong> area. After clearing more than 300 meters<\/strong> of the channel in both directions from Tsentralnyi Avenue<\/strong>, the system began to self-clean during precipitation. According to the head of the enterprise, it handles most downpours, except for anomalous ones.<\/p>\n

Vitaliy Shevchenko<\/strong> also spoke about the inspection of an abandoned collector in the Inhulskyi District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We inspected this facility from the beginning to the point where it discharges into the Inhul<\/strong> River. The collector was unfinished and abandoned back in the 1970s<\/strong>. Carrying out work is complicated by the fact that large equipment cannot get in due to development of the private sector and a garage cooperative. Some sections are destroyed and filled with debris to a depth of 7\u20138 meters<\/strong>. This is a capital construction object, so the Department of Urban Economy<\/strong> will act as the client for the design and reconstruction, after which it will be able to transfer it to our balance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The head of KP \u00abELU avto dorih\u00bb<\/strong> noted that there is no catastrophic threat of flooding residential buildings in this part of the city: the system has been operating in this condition for more than half a century<\/strong>. Isolated complications occur in areas with unauthorized construction in the drainage zone.<\/p>\n
