September 19<\/strong> left a noticeable mark in the history of the Korabelny District<\/strong> and Mykolaiv<\/strong>. On this day the start date for the main production of the future “Okean” plant was set, the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant received one of its highest Soviet awards, young female medalists of the world championship were celebrated in Korabelny, and the concession project of the port “Olvia” was presented to potential investors. This date also has a tragic page of the modern war.<\/p>\n

September 19, 1950<\/strong>: the start of operations for the future “Okean” was determined<\/h2>\n

Despite delays in the construction of the new shipyard near the then-Oktyabrsk, the ministry by order of September 19, 1950<\/strong> set the start of the plant’s main production for the third quarter of 1951<\/strong>. Korabelov.info earlier reported<\/a> on this document in the history of the enterprise’s creation, and the exact date is also confirmed by a study of the development of Mykolaiv region’s industry. In September 1951<\/strong> the plant was supplied with electricity for the first time, and the year 1951<\/strong> is considered the founding year of “Okean”.<\/p>\n

September 19, 1977<\/strong>: the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant was awarded a fourth order<\/h2>\n

A scholarly study of the industrial history of the Mykolaiv region records<\/a> that on September 19, 1977<\/strong>, for early fulfillment of the plans of the 10th five-year plan<\/strong>, the collective of the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant in Mykolaiv<\/strong> was awarded its fourth<\/strong> order \u2014 the Order of Lenin. At that time the plant was one of the largest centers of Soviet shipbuilding.<\/p>\n

September 19, 2016<\/strong>: Korabelny welcomed the world championship medalists<\/h2>\n

Before the administrative meeting at the administration of the Korabelny District of Mykolaiv<\/strong> were congratulated<\/a> the pupils of Sports School No. 5<\/strong> \u2014 Yelyzaveta Shcherbakova<\/strong> and Nadiya Tonkonogova<\/strong> \u2014 and their coach Iryna Bondarenko<\/strong>, following the WAKO World Championship among cadets and juniors in Dublin. Official results confirm: Yelyzaveta Shcherbakova<\/strong> won 2 gold medals<\/strong>, and Nadiya Tonkonogova<\/strong> won 2 silver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

September 19, 2018<\/strong>: “Olvia” was presented to potential concessionaires<\/h2>\n

In Kyiv<\/strong> the International Finance Corporation presented<\/a> to potential investors concession projects for the ports “Olvia” and “Kherson”. That same day the Ministry of Infrastructure announced the completion of the preparation of the feasibility study. Eventually, on August 20, 2020<\/strong> the concession agreement for “Olvia” was signed for 35 years<\/strong> with the company QTerminals.<\/p>\n

September 19, 2023<\/strong>: a defender from the Korabelny District was killed<\/h2>\n

On September 19, 2023<\/strong>, defending Ukraine near the village of Verbove, a resident of the Korabelny District of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, Yevhen Yevheniyovych Tolstykh<\/strong>, known by the call sign “Kasper”, was killed. Korabelov.info reported<\/a> about the warrior and his farewell in Balabanivka in 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This day in Ukraine and the world<\/h2>\n

On September 19, 1941<\/strong> Wehrmacht forces entered Kyiv<\/strong>, after which the Nazi occupation of the capital began. On September 19, 1991<\/strong> by decree of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy was revived on its historical territory. And on September 19, 1893<\/strong> in New Zealand<\/strong> a new electoral law was signed, after which it became the first self-governing country in the world where women gained the right to vote in parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n

For the Korabelny District<\/strong> this date is primarily associated with the industrial history of “Okean” and “Olvia”, the sporting achievements of local prot\u00e9g\u00e9s, and the memory of a fellow resident who died in the war. And for all of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, September 19<\/strong> recalls a time when shipbuilding enterprises shaped the life and development of the city.<\/p>\n
