The total environmental damage exceeded <strong>8.5 million hryvnias<\/strong>, the <strong>State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District<\/strong> reported.<\/p>\n<p>During the attacks, vessels, buildings and auxiliary port facilities burned. The fire also engulfed dry vegetation and fuel and lubricants.<\/p>\n<p>After inspections and processing operational summaries of the <strong>State Emergency Service (DSNS)<\/strong>, the inspection&#8217;s specialists prepared <strong>22 damage estimates<\/strong> for the harm caused to the atmosphere by the fires. The total area of burning of vessels, buildings and other port facilities amounted to <strong>2,120 square meters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On some sections about <strong>1 hectare<\/strong> of dry vegetation burned, as well as <strong>1 ton<\/strong> of fuel and lubricants. As a result of the fires approximately <strong>186 tons<\/strong> of pollutants entered the atmosphere, of which <strong>184.5 tons<\/strong> was carbon dioxide.<\/p>\n<p>The calculated damage to the atmosphere reached nearly <strong>460 thousand hryvnias<\/strong>. Separately, the inspection determined damage to land resources due to contamination of the <strong>Mykolaiv seaport<\/strong> territory after the shelling on <strong>July 17<\/strong> \u2014 this amount exceeded <strong>8 million hryvnias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Information about the consequences of the attacks and the completed calculations are being transmitted to the <strong>Operational Headquarters at the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine<\/strong>.
