15 September<\/strong> the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine<\/strong> supported the dismissal of Ruslan Kravchenko<\/strong> from the post of Prosecutor General. The relevant decision was voted for by 317<\/strong> members of parliament, according to the broadcast of the parliamentary session.<\/p>\n

The day before, President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong> suspended Ruslan Kravchenko<\/strong> from his post and urged deputies to promptly support his dismissal. The Speaker of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk<\/strong> confirmed receipt of the presidential submission to the Verkhovna Rada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement<\/strong> also approved this submission. At the same time, it is currently unknown who is performing the duties of Prosecutor General after Kravchenko<\/strong>‘s suspension.<\/p>\n

During the session, opposition representatives called to restore a competitive selection for the post of Prosecutor General and to give up appointments they called political.<\/p>\n

Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation against the backdrop of an investigation by NABU<\/strong> and SAP<\/strong> into possible \u00abprotection\u00bb of call centres.<\/p>\n

14 September<\/strong> Kravchenko<\/strong> said that he had signed a notice of suspicion against the director of NABU, Semen Kryvonos<\/strong>. He also accused NABU<\/strong> and SAP<\/strong> of seizing materials of criminal proceedings against employees of those agencies during searches as part of the special operation “Carthage”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sources from “Ukrayinska Pravda”<\/strong> in law enforcement agencies claimed that on the night before 14 September<\/strong> Kravchenko<\/strong> left the country in an official car. He himself said that he was on a business trip.<\/p>\n

In the order, a copy of which “Ukrayinska Pravda”<\/strong> obtained, it is stated that Kravchenko<\/strong> sent himself to Paris<\/strong> for five days<\/strong> to participate in PACE<\/strong> hearings dedicated to Ukrainian children. At the same time, his name does not appear in the published speaking schedule for this event.<\/p>\n
