The verdict was reported by the <strong>Anti-Corruption Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The court also banned Yurchenko from holding certain positions for <strong>3 years<\/strong> and ordered the confiscation of his property.<\/p>\n<p>As stated in the indictment, the deputy covertly asked to have money passed to him through his assistant <strong>Ivan Fishchenko<\/strong>. It concerned <strong>$10,000<\/strong> for the MP himself and another <strong>$200,000<\/strong> for committee members.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecution, the funds were to be handed over in exchange for adopting legislative amendments in the interest of a foreign company.<\/p>\n<p>The case has been under consideration since <strong>2021<\/strong>. In <strong>2024<\/strong>, because one of the judges was replaced, the proceedings had to start over.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Anti-Corruption Center<\/strong> noted that <strong>Oleksandr Yurchenko<\/strong> became the third incumbent People&#8217;s Deputy to be sentenced to actual imprisonment.
