September 11<\/strong> in the history of the Korabelnyi District<\/strong> and Mykolaiv<\/strong> is connected to the shipbuilding heritage of the Okean plant, the appearance of new sports grounds, the history of Bohoyavlensk, city celebrations and the memory of a young defender who died in Donbas. And already in 2025<\/strong> on this day the building of Mykolaiv\u2019s Main Post Office was sold at auction.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2012<\/strong>: a model of Okean\u2019s dry dock was unveiled at a Korabelnyi school<\/h2>\n

At School No.1<\/strong> named after Oleh Olzhych in the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv<\/strong> they held<\/a> a ceremonial assembly and unveiled a large model of the Okean plant\u2019s dry dock. The event was dedicated, among other things, to the 40th anniversary<\/strong> of the dock entering service and the 60th anniversary<\/strong> of the launch of the plant\u2019s first vessel; the plant confirms<\/a> that one of the largest dry docks in Europe began operating in 1972<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2013<\/strong>: installation of a skate park began in Korabelnyi<\/h2>\n

Equipment for a skate park was brought to the new \u201cKorabelnyi\u201d Sports Park<\/strong> near the \u201cVodoliy\u201d<\/strong> pool for<\/a> the site. The technical team was due to complete the installation within the next 2 days<\/strong>, but local children began testing the site before the work was finished. The project was implemented by the NGO \u201cAlter-Sport,\u201d which received a grant for it.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2013<\/strong>: a renovated playground opened in Kulbakine<\/h2>\n

In the Kulbakine neighborhood on Raiduzhna Street, 34<\/strong>, they opened<\/a> a reconstructed children\u2019s and sports playground. The initiative to restore it came from former Kulbakine resident Alyona Oleksandrivna Rykova-Kras<\/strong>, who at that time lived in Belgium<\/strong> and decided to help the district where she spent her childhood.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2013<\/strong>: a book about Bohoyavlensk was presented in Korabelnyi<\/h2>\n

At Branch Library No.18<\/strong> on Korabeliv Avenue, 12<\/strong>, a presentation took place for a book devoted to the history of Bohoyavlensk \u2014 the oldest part of modern Mykolaiv<\/strong>. Korabelov.info announced<\/a> the meeting with the author Natalia Oleksandrivna Kukhar-Onyshko<\/strong>; the publication included archival photographs and documents, including materials from local historians.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2016<\/strong>: families of schoolchildren competed in \u201cFun Starts\u201d<\/h2>\n

As part of the celebration of Mykolaiv Day<\/strong> in the Korabelnyi District<\/strong> they held<\/a> family \u201cFun Starts.\u201d Families of students from Schools No.44<\/strong>, No.48<\/strong>, No.54<\/strong>, No.49<\/strong>, No.14<\/strong> and Gymnasium No.3<\/strong> took part; the Vasylenko family won.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2022<\/strong>: alumnus from Korabelnyi Dmytro Oleksandrovych Kotsan<\/strong> was killed<\/h2>\n

Near the village of Pisky in Donetsk region, in a battle with Russian forces, 25-year-old Dmytro Oleksandrovych Kotsan<\/strong>, call sign \u201cMinus\u201d \u2014 a grenadier of the \u201cSarmat\u201d battalion, and a former student of School No.54<\/strong> and Gymnasium No.3<\/strong> in the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv<\/strong> \u2014 was killed. Korabelov.info reported<\/a> that after the start of the full-scale invasion he returned from Poland<\/strong> to Ukraine and went back to fight.<\/p>\n

September 11, 2025<\/strong>: the Main Post Office in Mykolaiv<\/strong> was sold for UAH 32.1 million<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Main Post Office building on Admiralska Street, 27\/1<\/strong>, was sold<\/a> at an electronic auction for UAH 32.1 million<\/strong> with a starting price of about UAH 6.6 million<\/strong>. 11 participants<\/strong> took part in the bidding, and the winner was LLC \u201cBne beytha.\u201d<\/p>\n

This day in Ukraine and the world<\/h2>\n

On September 11, 2023<\/strong> the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported<\/a> the return to Ukrainian control of drilling platforms in the Black Sea known as the \u201cBoyko rigs,\u201d which Russia had seized back in 2015<\/strong>. And on September 11, 2001<\/strong> Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked 4 passenger planes<\/strong> in the United States<\/strong>: the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania claimed the lives of 2,977 people<\/strong>, as the 9\/11 National Memorial<\/a> reminds.<\/p>\n

September 11<\/strong> has left very different memories for the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>: from the Okean dry dock, the skate park, the Kulbakine playground and the book about Bohoyavlensk to the war that took the life of a young graduate of the local gymnasium.<\/p>\n
