In the Prymorskyi district of Odesa<\/strong> a man, threatening with a pistol, took from a 22-year-old<\/strong> passerby a chain with a pendant and then fled. The attack occurred late last week near a supermarket.<\/p>\n

According to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region<\/strong>, law enforcement officers located the attacker within an hour after the victim’s report. A 27-year-old<\/strong> resident of Odesa was detained at his place of residence.<\/p>\n

The man’s jewelry was seized. It turned out to be costume jewelry, valued at 150 hryvnias<\/strong>. Police also found a weapon resembling a blank-firing pistol. According to the investigation, the detainee discarded it on the way; the item is being sent for examination.<\/p>\n

Investigators have charged the man with robbery committed under martial law. This concerns part 4<\/strong> of article 187<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The court chose a preventive measure of detention without the right to post bail. If found guilty, the suspect may face up to 15 years<\/strong> in prison with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation continues.<\/p>\n
