In the evening of September 9, 2026<\/strong> a Russian drone exploded on one of the busy streets of Mykolaiv<\/strong>. At that moment a woman was passing by in a Renault Megane: according to a correspondent of \u201cNovin-N\u201d, a fragment of a \u201cShahed\u201d fatally wounded her. After the driver\u2019s death the vehicle, uncontrolled, drove about 100 meters<\/strong>, changed direction and crashed into a metal fence.<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, the enemy drone exploded directly in the urban area. Besides the deceased woman, residents of the surrounding houses felt the consequences of the strike: homes and parked cars were damaged by the blast wave and debris.<\/p>\n

In total 4 residential buildings<\/strong> were damaged – 2 five-story buildings<\/strong> and 2 nine-story buildings<\/strong>. In the apartment blocks mostly windows were blown out and balconies damaged. Several cars parked near the buildings were also damaged.<\/p>\n

After this series of strikes the acting head of the Mykolaiv RMA Heorhiy Reshetilov<\/strong> reported that as a result of Russian attacks on Mykolaiv<\/strong> in the afternoon 2 people<\/strong> were killed. Preliminary reports indicate that 9 more people<\/strong> were injured. Among them was a 1-year-old boy<\/strong>. The child received medical assistance and will continue treatment as an outpatient. The other injured were hospitalized in varying degrees of severity.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the nearly continuous strikes on the city and region throughout September 9<\/strong>, Heorhiy Reshetilov<\/strong> stressed the human cost of the Russian attacks.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor almost a day Russia has been terrorizing Mykolaiv and the region. Behind each such attack are human lives, the pain of families and our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Air Forces repeatedly warned during the day specifically about the movement of jet UAVs toward Mykolaiv<\/strong>. In particular, the OVA issued such notifications at 16:45<\/strong> and 17:05<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The deadly evening strike was a continuation of one of the largest attacks on the Mykolaiv region<\/strong> in recent times. On the night of September 9<\/strong> and in the morning Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Mykolaiv<\/strong> and the Mykolaiv district<\/strong> with rockets, guided aerial bombs and drones.<\/p>\n

At night one of the Russian strikes hit a residential area of Mykolaiv<\/strong>. A two-story private house<\/strong> and a garage were destroyed. During search-and-rescue operations the body of a 70-year-old woman<\/strong> was recovered from the rubble. According to updated data from the prosecutor\u2019s office, 7 people<\/strong> were injured during the night and morning attack, including a 15-year-old<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Russian strikes during the day also damaged port, industrial and logistics infrastructure, warehouse and office premises, grain terminals, transport companies, a shopping center and vehicles. Large-scale fires broke out at several facilities.<\/p>\n
