8 September<\/strong> in the history of Mykolaiv<\/strong> combined entrepreneurship and shipbuilding, sport in the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>, contemporary art, the fight for Ukrainian prisoners and war. On this day the founder of \u201cNIBULON\u201d Oleksiy Vadatursky<\/strong> was born, the plant named after the 61 Communard received a new name, and engines roared at the local karting track for the Ukrainian championship.<\/p>\n

8 September 1947<\/strong>: the founder of \u201cNIBULON\u201d Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadatursky<\/strong> was born<\/h2>\n

In the village of Bendzary in Odesa region Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadatursky<\/strong> was born \u2013 the future founder and CEO of the company \u201cNIBULON\u201d, whose life and activities were closely linked to Mykolaiv<\/strong>. The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine confirms<\/a> that from 1991<\/strong> he headed the company he created, and in 2007<\/strong> he was awarded the title Hero of Ukraine. On 31 July 2022<\/strong> Oleksiy Vadatursky<\/strong> and his wife Raisa were killed in their home in Mykolaiv<\/strong> as a result of a Russian missile strike.<\/p>\n

8 September 2013<\/strong>: a stage of the Ukrainian supermoto championship was held in Korabelnyi<\/h2>\n

At the karting track in the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv<\/strong> the IV stage of the Ukrainian supermoto championship took place. About 30 riders<\/strong> from various cities participated, and the karting track area was transformed into a real sports town for the duration of the tournament. 8 September 2017<\/strong>: the plant named after the 61 Communard became the Mykolaiv Shipbuilding Plant<\/h2>\n

By order dated 8 September 2017<\/strong> the state enterprise \u201cShipbuilding Plant named after the 61 Communard\u201d was renamed to the State Enterprise \u201cMykolaiv Shipbuilding Plant\u201d. This date is recorded in the calendar of memorable dates of the Mykolaiv region. The enterprise is the successor of one of Mykolaiv\u2019s oldest centers of military shipbuilding.<\/p>\n

8 September 2023<\/strong>: Mykolaiv ART Week started in Mykolaiv<\/h2>\n

In Mykolaiv<\/strong> the contemporary art festival Mykolaiv ART Week: MEMORY opened. An online exhibition received submissions from 260 participants<\/strong> from 5 continents<\/strong>, and works by 70 authors<\/strong> were selected for the exposition. 8 September 2024<\/strong>: Mykolaiv residents reminded about prisoners of war<\/h2>\n

In central Mykolaiv<\/strong> residents once again held a rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war and missing persons. Participants held posters reading \u201cYou fought for me \u2013 I fight for you\u201d, \u201cThey are waiting\u201d and demanded that the issue of captivity not be allowed to disappear from the information space. 8 September 2025<\/strong>: \u201cShahed\u201d debris damaged a Mykolaiv enterprise<\/h2>\n

On the night of 8 September 2025<\/strong> in the Mykolaiv region<\/strong> one strike UAV of the Shahed-131\/136<\/strong> type was shot down or suppressed. As a result of combat activity and falling debris in Mykolaiv<\/strong> premises and equipment of a manufacturing enterprise were damaged, a fire broke out which rescuers extinguished. No people were injured, Korabelov.info reported<\/a> citing official services.<\/p>\n

8 September 1989<\/strong> in Kyiv<\/strong> the founding congress of the \u201cPeople\u2019s Movement of Ukraine for Perestroika\u201d opened, which lasted until 10 September<\/strong>. The Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance calls<\/a> the Movement one of the largest organizations that became a powerful driving force in the restoration of Ukraine\u2019s independence. Also, 8 September<\/strong> is observed worldwide as International Literacy Day, which, as UNESCO notes<\/a>, has been celebrated annually since 1967<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
