The calendar summer 2026<\/strong> in the Mykolaiv region was hot, and during some periods \u2014 very hot. The season was accompanied by a significant deficit of precipitation and a prolonged air\u2013soil drought. The average air temperature in the region ranged from +21.5<\/strong> to +23.8 \u00b0C<\/strong>, which generally corresponds to the climatic norm.<\/p>\n

The hottest periods of the summer<\/h2>\n

The most intense heat in the region was observed in two<\/strong> periods. From 28 June to 3 July<\/strong> daytime temperatures rose to +33.1\u2026+37.8 \u00b0C<\/strong>. Even higher values were recorded from 2 to 8 August<\/strong> \u2014 then the air warmed up to +36.8\u2026+38.8 \u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Depending on the area of the Mykolaiv region, temperatures above +30 \u00b0C<\/strong> were observed for 25\u201352 days<\/strong>. Readings of +35 \u00b0C<\/strong> and above were recorded from 2 to 15 times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the coolest nights occurred in the first ten days of June. In some places the air temperature then dropped to +7\u2026+10 \u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Precipitation fell significantly below normal<\/h2>\n

Rain fell from 9 to 15 days<\/strong> during the summer, but was distributed extremely unevenly across the region. Over most of the Mykolaiv region only 48\u201387 mm<\/strong> of precipitation fell for the season, which is 40\u201357%<\/strong> of the climatic norm.<\/p>\n

More precipitation was recorded in Pervomaisk and Snihurivka<\/strong>. There 108\u2013143 mm<\/strong> of rain fell over the season \u2014 approximately 77\u201378%<\/strong> of the norm.<\/p>\n

Thus, the main features of the summer of 2026<\/strong> were prolonged heat, a large number of days with temperatures above +30<\/strong> \u00b0C, and a significant deficit of atmospheric precipitation, which contributed to the development of drought.<\/p>\n

Temperature records of Mykolaiv<\/h2>\n

Over 80 years<\/strong> of meteorological observations the absolute maximum temperature in Mykolaiv is +41.6 \u00b0C<\/strong>. It was recorded on 16 July 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The absolute minimum for the summer period was registered on 2 June 2020<\/strong> \u2014 the temperature fell to +5.6 \u00b0C<\/strong>. The record daily precipitation in the city for this observation period occurred on 30 June 1955<\/strong>, when 144 mm<\/strong> of rain fell in one day.<\/p>\n

In Mykolaiv and Ochakiv on 4 and 6 August 2026<\/strong> exceedances of the absolute maximum temperature values by 0.2\u20130.7 \u00b0C<\/strong> were also recorded.<\/p>\n
