Petro Tymofiyovych Motorniy<\/strong>, who turned 106<\/strong>, became the oldest man in Ireland<\/strong>. He spent and worked most of his life in Mykolaiv<\/strong>. This was reported by the organization Ukrainian Action in Ireland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Motorniy was born on 5 November 1919<\/strong> in the Cherkasy region<\/strong>. After finishing school he moved to Mykolaiv, where for more than 50 years<\/strong> he worked at a shipbuilding plant<\/strong>. He began his career as a welder and later became a workshop manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Despite his advanced age, Petro Tymofiyovych<\/strong> retains good memory and activity. He recites passages from Ivan Kotliarevsky\u2019s “Eneida”<\/strong> by heart.<\/p>\n

In February 2024<\/strong>, when Motorniy was 104<\/strong>, he obtained a passport for foreign travel for the first time in his life. After that he went to Ireland, where his family was waiting for him.<\/p>\n

In November Petro Motorniy<\/strong> will celebrate his 107th birthday<\/strong>. Previously, the Mykolaiv authorities congratulated him on his birthday while he still lived in the city.<\/p>\n
