Preparatory and initial dismantling works are currently underway at the site. Mayor <strong data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1211\">Oleksandr Senkevych<\/strong>, together with the company\u2019s director <strong>Gennadiy Izyumov<\/strong>, water utility employees and a contractor representative inspected the site.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1468\">The project <strong data-start=\"1322\" data-end=\"1394\">&#8220;Development of the water supply and wastewater systems in the city of Mykolaiv&#8221;<\/strong> was launched back in <strong data-start=\"1410\" data-end=\"1423\">2016<\/strong>. Its first phase was completed in <strong data-start=\"1456\" data-end=\"1467\">2018<\/strong>. The contract for the second phase was signed in <strong data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1537\">February 2025<\/strong>. Currently the contractor:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1693\">\n<li data-section-id=\"191nb7f\" data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1620\">is finalizing the design and engineering documentation;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"k7guq9\" data-start=\"1622\" data-end=\"1655\">is setting up the construction camp;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"vp6kkn\" data-start=\"1657\" data-end=\"1693\">is carrying out the initial dismantling works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"1852\">The second stage provides for a <strong data-start=\"1718\" data-end=\"1782\">complete reconstruction of the biological wastewater treatment units<\/strong>, as well as the introduction of a new system for sludge dewatering and stabilization. After completion, nearly the entire main technological cycle of municipal wastewater treatment will be modernized. This is expected to improve the reliability of the enterprise\u2019s operations and ensure the required treatment quality in accordance with environmental protection standards.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"1852\">&#8220;After the reconstruction is completed, the treatment facilities will operate on more modern and significantly more energy-efficient equipment,&#8221; \u2014 reported Mayor <strong>Oleksandr Senkevych<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2139\" data-end=\"2276\">Demolished concrete structures are not taken to a landfill. They are crushed and processed into crushed stone directly on the construction site. Implementation of the second phase of reconstruction will take about <strong data-start=\"2687\" data-end=\"2701\">two years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2754\" data-end=\"2965\">After the current works are completed the city plans to move to the third stage.
