27 August<\/strong> is associated with a document that simultaneously mentions the future Mykolaiv<\/strong> and Vitovka<\/strong>, the decision to suspend the activities of the Communist Party, a Russian shelling, and changes to public transport in the Korabelnyi District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

27 August 1789 (old style)<\/strong>: the shipyard was named Mykolaiv, and Vitovka – Bohoyavlenske<\/h2>\n

In order No.1065<\/strong> to Mykhailo Faleyev<\/strong>, whom Korabelov.info earlier cited<\/a>, Grigory Potemkin<\/strong> ordered the newly built shipyard on the Inhul<\/strong> to be called the city Mykolaiv<\/strong>, and assigned the name \u201cBohoyavlenske<\/strong>\u201d to Vitovka<\/strong>. The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine clarifies<\/a> that the official renaming of Vitovka is dated to 1790<\/strong>. The date of the order is given in the old style and corresponds to 7 September 1789<\/strong> in the modern calendar.<\/p>\n

27 August 1991<\/strong>: Mykolaiv Oblast implemented the decree on suspending the Communist Party<\/h2>\n

Three days<\/strong> after the proclamation of Ukraine\u2019s independence, the Mykolaiv regional executive committee adopted decision No.208<\/strong> on organizing the implementation of the decree of 26 August 1991<\/strong> regarding the temporary suspension of the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine. Information about this document was preserved<\/a> by the State Archive of Mykolaiv Oblast.<\/p>\n

27 August 2022<\/strong>: Russians shelled the outskirts of Mykolaiv<\/h2>\n

At about 04:30<\/strong>, Russian forces once again shelled Mykolaiv<\/strong>. Impacts were recorded on the outskirts of the city, but, according to preliminary information from the regional military administration, there were no fatalities or injuries.<\/p>\n

27 August 2025<\/strong>: the trolleybus No.11 schedule was changed in Korabelnyi<\/h2>\n

In the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, an updated timetable for trolleybus route No.11<\/strong> began operating, linking Aivazovskyi Street<\/strong> with the district\u2019s ring bypass. Korabelov.info wrote<\/a> that during the first week routes No.11<\/strong> and No.12<\/strong> carried more than 6,500 passengers<\/strong>, after which the carrier adjusted the schedule.<\/p>\n

27 August 2025<\/strong>: the promised launch of the water main had to be postponed<\/h2>\n

This date had previously been named as a target for water from the new water main to reach Mykolaiv<\/strong>, but on 27 August<\/strong> the head of the regional military administration reported that supply was expected the next day. Only on 4 September 2025<\/strong> did Korabelov.info report<\/a> on the test operation of the water main and the start of water delivery to the utility\u2019s reservoirs.<\/p>\n

27 August 1955<\/strong> saw the first edition of \u201cThe Guinness Book of Records,\u201d as the publication\u2019s official history notes<\/a>. And on 27 August 1991<\/strong> the parliament in Chi\u0219in\u0103u<\/strong> declared the independence of the Republic of Moldova<\/strong> \u2013 the text of the declaration was published<\/a> by the country\u2019s Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n

This was the significance of this date for the Korabelnyi District<\/strong> and Mykolaiv<\/strong>: from the order related to the names of the city and Bohoyavlenske to the rejection of the communist past, Russian shelling, and the development of local transport.<\/p>\n
