The Korabelnyi District Court of the city of Mykolaiv<\/strong> found a local resident guilty of intentionally inflicting minor bodily injuries on her own underage son. The woman was fined 850 hryvnias<\/strong>. The verdict in case No. 488\/3405\/26<\/strong><\/a> was rendered by the court on 15 July 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the materials of the criminal proceedings, the incident occurred on 24 May 2026<\/strong> at the defendant’s residence. The exact time of the incident could not be established during the pre\u2011trial investigation.<\/p>\n

The investigation established that the woman intentionally struck her underage son at least once<\/strong> with a laptop cable to the head. The child developed a bruise in the right temporal area. Experts classified this injury as minor.<\/p>\n

The defendant \u2014 a native of Mykolaiv<\/strong> \u2014 has a secondary specialized education, is not formally employed and had no prior convictions. She pleaded guilty without reservation, agreed with the circumstances established by the investigation and did not object to the trial of the indictment in her absence.<\/p>\n

The defence attorney confirmed that the woman voluntarily agreed to a simplified trial procedure. The legal representative of the underage victim also did not object to this procedure and, according to a written statement, had no claims against the defendant.<\/p>\n

The case was considered without a court hearing and without summoning the participants. The court found the mother’s guilt proven under part 1<\/strong> of Article 125<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2014 intentional minor bodily injury.<\/p>\n

When imposing the sentence, the court took into account that the woman had no prior convictions, is characterized as of average standing at her place of residence and expressed sincere remorse. Remorse was recognized as a mitigating circumstance.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the court found two aggravating circumstances: the offense was committed against an underage child and against a person with whom the offender is in a family relationship.<\/p>\n

Ultimately the woman was fined 50<\/strong> non\u2011taxable minimum incomes of citizens \u2014 850 hryvnias<\/strong>. No civil claim was filed in the case; there are no court costs. The DVD-R<\/strong> disc, attached as evidence, was ordered to remain in the materials of the criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n

The verdict came into legal force on 15 August 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
