More than <strong data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1005\">75% of Ukrainian kindergartens<\/strong> are already ready to introduce such classes. Deputy Minister of Education and Science for Preschool Education <strong data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1141\">Anastasiia Konovalova<\/strong> reported this during a briefing within the <strong data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1209\">&#8220;August 2026&#8221;<\/strong> conference. Mandatory study of English is provided for by the Law of Ukraine <strong>&#8220;On the Use of the English Language in Ukraine&#8221;<\/strong>. The Ministry of Education and Science additionally set out the requirements for organizing instruction in official letter No.1\/16388-26.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1704\" data-end=\"1822\">Lessons can be conducted by <strong>educators who have the necessary education and training<\/strong>. At the same time, kindergartens are allowed to involve:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1824\" data-end=\"1998\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1h86w5\" data-start=\"1824\" data-end=\"1860\">English teachers from schools;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"9fq2g4\" data-start=\"1861\" data-end=\"1887\">private educational institutions;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"140gbzf\" data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"1945\">individual entrepreneurs who provide educational services;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1h6jnef\" data-start=\"1946\" data-end=\"1998\">other trained specialists on contractual terms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2164\">For each older preschool group a <strong data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2095\">0.25 of a full-time English teacher position<\/strong> is provided. This corresponds to <strong data-start=\"2111\" data-end=\"2163\">4.5 hours of teaching load per week<\/strong>. The Ministry of Education and Science recommends conducting at least <strong data-start=\"2202\" data-end=\"2252\">two specially organized lessons per week<\/strong>. If a group has more than <strong data-start=\"2274\" data-end=\"2286\">12 children<\/strong>, they may be divided into subgroups.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2368\" data-end=\"2465\">If the community does not have a trained teacher, the kindergarten may organize classes <strong data-start=\"2449\" data-end=\"2464\">remotely<\/strong>. In that case the English teacher will work with the children via an online platform, and the educator will stay with the group and help conduct the lesson. This does not mean switching preschoolers to distance learning. The children will remain in the kindergarten, and only the English teacher will connect online.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2822\" data-end=\"2939\">The main goal of the classes will be <strong>not fluent language proficiency, but a first introduction to English and fostering interest<\/strong>.
