13 August<\/strong> left very different events in the history of the Korabelnyi District<\/strong> and Mykolaiv<\/strong>: from a decision on new trolleybus routes and a big football victory by port workers to serious road accidents and Russian strikes on the city.<\/p>\n

13 August 2025<\/strong>: two new trolleybus routes approved for Korabelnyi<\/h2>\n

The executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council approved<\/a> expanding the electric transport network in the Korabelnyi district: route No. 11<\/strong> “Aivazovskyi Street (ring)” with a length of 12.7 km<\/strong> and route No. 12<\/strong> “Aivazovskyi Street \u2013 Kulbakine” with a length of 22.6 km<\/strong>. The latter connected the district center with the Kulbakine neighborhood. The new directions became possible thanks to trolleybuses with autonomous operation.<\/p>\n

13 August 2022<\/strong>: “Uragan” and “Smerch” struck Mykolaiv<\/h2>\n

In the evening Russian forces fired at the port infrastructure of Mykolaiv<\/strong> 3<\/strong> rockets from the MLRS “Uragan”, and about an hour later struck<\/a> with 6<\/strong> rockets from the MLRS “Smerch” at residential neighborhoods and industrial facilities of the city. Several buildings were damaged and 1 person<\/strong> was wounded.<\/p>\n

13 August 2021<\/strong>: port side “Olvia” demolished the opponent 7:2<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On the field of the “Zorya” sports complex the team “Olvia”, representing the stevedoring company “Olvia” located in the Korabelnyi district, defeated<\/a> “Viktoriia” with a score of 7:2<\/strong> in the Mykolaiv city football championship. By halftime the port team was already leading 5:1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

13 August 2018<\/strong>: 6 people<\/strong> injured in an accident on the Shyrokobalnyi stretch<\/h2>\n

Around 14:25<\/strong> on Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue a Chevrolet Aveo and a Daewoo Matiz collided. The Matiz overturned onto its roof from the impact. As reported<\/a> by Korabelov.info citing the police, the female driver and 5 passengers<\/strong> of the Matiz were injured, among them 3 children<\/strong> aged 7<\/strong> and 10<\/strong> years. All the injured were taken to hospitals.<\/p>\n

13 August 1941<\/strong>: German occupation reached Novyi Buh and Bereznehuvate<\/h2>\n

The Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine notes<\/a> that from 13 August 1941<\/strong> Novyi Buh<\/strong> was under German occupation. On the same day Bereznehuvate<\/strong> was also occupied. Both settlements in present-day Mykolaiv Oblast were liberated in 1944<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

13 August 1905<\/strong> in the Welsh town of Barry<\/strong> journalist Gareth Jones<\/strong> was born; in 1933<\/strong> he visited Ukraine and was one of the first to tell the world the truth about the Holodomor. And on the night of 13 August 1961<\/strong> the GDR authorities began to block the border between East and West Berlin<\/strong> with barbed wire \u2014 thus began the history of the Berlin Wall.<\/p>\n
