{"id":605019,"date":"2026-08-12T15:36:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-12T12:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/2026\/08\/605019\/beaten-intimidated-and-not-allowed-to-leave-there-are-already-13-suspects-in-the-odesa-rtc-case\/"},"modified":"2026-08-12T15:36:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-12T12:36:24","slug":"beaten-intimidated-and-not-allowed-to-leave-there-are-already-13-suspects-in-the-odesa-rtc-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/en\/2026\/08\/605019\/beaten-intimidated-and-not-allowed-to-leave-there-are-already-13-suspects-in-the-odesa-rtc-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Beaten, intimidated and not allowed to leave: there are already 13 suspects in the Odesa RTC case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"781\">Employees of the <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"598\">State Bureau of Investigation<\/strong> have identified another <strong data-start=\"613\" data-end=\"696\">four employees of a district territorial recruitment center in the Odesa region<\/strong> who are suspected of unlawfully detaining citizens and using violence against them.\u00a0 The press service of the SBI reported this on <strong data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"813\">August 12<\/strong>, 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"1225\">The new suspects were identified by <strong data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1004\">the SBI<\/strong> with the assistance of the <strong data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1055\">Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/strong>. They have been notified of suspicion of unlawful deprivation of liberty and kidnapping of a person, committed by a group of persons and causing physical suffering to the victim \u2014 <strong data-start=\"1206\" data-end=\"1224\">Part 2 of Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. After the announcement of the new suspicions, the total number of persons involved in the proceeding rose to <strong data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1320\">13 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1405\">In <strong data-start=\"1325\" data-end=\"1345\">June 2026<\/strong> law enforcement exposed the first <strong data-start=\"1375\" data-end=\"1404\">nine members of the group<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1521\">\n<li data-section-id=\"osnmvq\" data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1461\"><strong data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1432\">six employees<\/strong> of the same district TRC and SPC;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1a6nj3d\" data-start=\"1462\" data-end=\"1521\"><strong data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1487\">three representatives<\/strong> of a local public organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1769\">According to the investigation, the RT\u0421 staff organized the <strong>illegal delivery<\/strong> of men to the recruitment center and <strong>held them in its premises<\/strong>. Representatives of the public organization allegedly <strong>helped search for people and collected information<\/strong> about them. The SBI states that it documented <strong>numerous cases of cruel treatment<\/strong>. Victims may have been <strong>illegally detained, beaten, intimidated, and subjected to psychological pressure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1941\" data-end=\"2179\"><strong>Nine<\/strong> previously exposed suspects are <strong>held in custody without the possibility of bail<\/strong>. They are suspected of torture, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and robbery committed by an organized group \u2014 <strong data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2178\">Part 3 of Art.127, Part 2 of Art.146 and Part 4 of Art.186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
