6 August<\/strong> at around 16:00<\/strong> on the highway \u00abOdesa \u2013 Melitopol \u2013 Novoazovsk<\/strong>\u00bb near the village of Polovynky<\/strong> of the Vesnyanska community<\/strong> a road traffic accident occurred involving three<\/strong> vehicles. As a result of the collision the driver of the passenger car died, and his passenger was injured.<\/p>\n

The crash involved a truck VOLVO FH 12<\/strong> with a semi-trailer driven by a 64-year-old<\/strong> man, a SETRA<\/strong> bus driven by a 38-year-old<\/strong> driver who was operating regular passenger services, and a FORD BRONCO SPORT<\/strong> car driven by a 60-year-old<\/strong> man.<\/p>\n

Rescuers extricated the FORD<\/strong> driver. He and the 58-year-old<\/strong> passenger were hospitalized. The man died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

The drivers of the truck and the bus, as well as the seven<\/strong> passengers who were on the bus at the time of the collision, were not injured.<\/p>\n

Police detained the 64-year-old<\/strong> driver of the VOLVO<\/strong> in accordance with Article 208<\/strong> of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Investigators of the department for the investigation of transport crimes of the investigative department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of vehicles by persons operating vehicles, which caused the death of a victim.<\/p>\n

The article’s sanction provides for imprisonment for up to eight years<\/strong> with possible disqualification from driving for up to three years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At present, police are establishing all circumstances and causes of the accident. A decision is being made on whether to notify the truck driver of suspicion.<\/p>\n
