The Central District Court of Mykolaiv<\/strong> considered a motion to impose a preventive measure on a 60-year-old<\/strong> resident of Kherson<\/strong>. The woman is suspected of justifying and glorifying the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine under parts 2<\/strong> and 3<\/strong> of Article 436-2<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to the materials of the motion, the suspect repeatedly posted messages in social networks and in publicly accessible chats of Telegram channels in support of the aggressor state.<\/p>\n

The investigation believes that in her messages the woman justified the Russian invasion, admired the actions of the Russian army and expressed hopes for the re-occupation of Kherson<\/strong> and the capture of other Ukrainian regions.<\/p>\n

She also allegedly called on Russian troops to destroy Ukrainian cities and claimed that a significant portion of Kherson<\/strong> residents support Russia’s aggressive actions.<\/p>\n

During the court hearing the prosecutor supported the motion and insisted on applying a preventive measure against the suspect.<\/p>\n

The woman herself told the court that she had posted pro-Russian messages while in a state of emotional distress. She assured that she does not intend to hide from the investigation and asked to be placed under house arrest.<\/p>\n

The suspect’s defense attorney also asked the court not to apply a preventive measure involving detention.<\/p>\n

After examining the case materials and hearing the parties’ positions, investigating judge Volodymyr Lyashchenko<\/strong> ordered that the woman be taken into custody.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the court set the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 998,400 hryvnias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
