On the night of 5 August 2026<\/strong>, Russian occupying forces carried out a large-scale combined attack on Kyiv<\/strong> and the Kyiv region<\/strong>. According to the latest data, 17 people<\/strong> were killed and 44 people<\/strong> were injured. The enemy’s main targets were warehouses of civilian companies, logistics centers, railway infrastructure and other objects not related to the military.<\/p>\n

During the strike the Russians used 28 missiles<\/strong> and 115 drones<\/strong>. The enemy launched 24 ballistic missiles \u201cIskander\u2011M\u201d\/S-400<\/strong>, 4 \u201cZircon\u201d\/\u201cOnyx\u201d missiles<\/strong>, as well as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas type drones and drone imitators. A significant portion of the strike drones were jet-powered.<\/p>\n

Air defence forces shot down or suppressed 98 drones<\/strong>, however impacts of missiles and 17 drones in 26 locations<\/strong> were recorded.<\/p>\n

The first data<\/a> from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine mostly concerned the consequences of the strike on the Kyiv region<\/strong>. At that time 14 dead<\/strong> and 22 wounded<\/strong> were reported. After clarifying information from Kyiv<\/strong> and the region the total number of victims rose to 17<\/strong>, and the injured \u2014 to 44<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The largest number of fatalities in the Kyiv region<\/strong> was recorded in the Brovary district<\/strong> \u2014 9 people<\/strong>. In the Bucha district<\/strong> 4 civilians<\/strong> were killed, and in the Fastiv district<\/strong> \u2014 1 person<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Brovary district<\/strong> 12 people<\/strong> were injured, in Bucha<\/strong> \u2014 7<\/strong>, in Fastiv<\/strong> \u2014 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rescuers worked at 7 locations in 3 districts of the region<\/strong>. Large fires broke out in warehouse buildings in Brovary, Velyka Dymerka, Kvitneve and Peremoha.<\/p>\n

In the Fastiv district<\/strong> vehicles were burning on the premises of an enterprise, and in the village of Chaiky in Bucha district<\/strong> \u2014 a warehouse building. The fire at the logistics company’s site in Sofiivska Borshchahivka<\/strong> was extinguished.<\/p>\n

In Kyiv<\/strong> fires broke out in the Obolonskyi<\/strong>, Sviatoshynskyi<\/strong>, Holosiivskyi<\/strong> and Desnianskyi districts<\/strong>. After bringing the fires under control, rescuers continued dismantling and dousing the destroyed structures.<\/p>\n

680 rescuers<\/strong> and 140 units of SES equipment<\/strong> were involved in eliminating the consequences of the large-scale attack.<\/p>\n
