A serious demographic imbalance persists in the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv<\/strong>: in the first half of 2026<\/strong> among the population served by the Primary Health Care Center No. 7<\/strong>, almost three times more people died than were born.<\/p>\n

This is stated in the official response of PHC Center No. 7<\/strong> dated July 29, 2026<\/strong> to an information request from the Korabelov.info editorial office. The information was provided by the acting director of the center, Svitlana Kursa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the first 6 months of 2026<\/strong> in the service area of the medical facility, 95 children<\/strong> were born, while 254 people<\/strong> died. Thus, there were approximately 2,7 deaths<\/strong> for every newborn, and the natural population decline amounted to 159 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The birth rate was only 2,1 per 1,000 population<\/strong>, while the mortality rate was 5,5 per 1,000<\/strong>. The document separately notes that the infant mortality rate was 10,5\u2030<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As of July 1, 2026<\/strong>, 45 775 residents<\/strong> of the Korabelnyi District had declarations with doctors of PHC Center No. 7<\/strong>. Among them were 7 403 children<\/strong> and 24 861 working-age people<\/strong>. These are the center’s registered patients specifically, so these figures should not be considered the total population of the entire district.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the demographic situation remains persistently negative. According to the Korabelnyi civil registry office (DRA\u0426\u0421), in the first half of 2025<\/strong> there were 159 children<\/strong> born in the entire district, and 433 people<\/strong> died \u2014 the ratio was also about 2,7 to 1<\/strong>. Absolute figures for 2025<\/strong> and 2026<\/strong> cannot be compared directly, since the registry covered the whole district, while the current response concerns the service area of PHC Center No. 7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The situation was even worse in the first year of the full-scale Russian invasion. By the end of 2022<\/strong>, 174 newborns<\/strong> and 852 deaths<\/strong> were registered in the Korabelnyi District \u2014 there were 4,9 times<\/strong> more deaths.<\/p>\n
