The Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv<\/strong> detained two men suspected of collaborating with the Russian FSB and providing the enemy with access to the Starlink satellite internet; according to the agency, they registered 76<\/strong> terminals for the special services.<\/p>\n

According to the SBU, the perpetrators were recruited through Telegram channels where they were looking for easy money, after which they initially registered the first devices under their own personal details and then passed personal information to a Russian handler for further operations with the equipment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe criminals then used forged Ukrainian passports to illegally activate the satellite terminals,\u201d the SBU reported.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

To bypass checks during registration, the suspects recruited an employee of one of the postal branches who helped with the equipment registration procedure.<\/p>\n

According to the Russian side’s plan, these systems were to be used to adjust missile and drone strikes, as well as to detect Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.<\/p>\n

Counterintelligence officers detained the suspects at their places of residence; during searches they seized phones with evidence of communication with the FSB, and all illegally activated Starlink terminals were promptly blocked.<\/p>\n

The detainees are currently in custody, have been charged, and if found guilty face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n
