In the Namyv neighborhood of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, law enforcement officers have notified a 38-year-old<\/strong> local resident of suspicion, who, according to investigators, while intoxicated started a conflict near a supermarket, took a hunting carbine from his car and fired shots into the air.<\/p>\n

This was 13 July 2026<\/strong> reported<\/a> by the Mykolaiv Oblast police<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A report of shots on Ozerna<\/strong> Street was received on the emergency line 102<\/strong> at about 01:30 on 13 July<\/strong>. A patrol police crew and the investigative-operational team of the Mykolaiv District Police Department arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement established that the intoxicated man quarreled with other citizens in a public place, used obscene language and behaved defiantly.<\/p>\n

During the argument he approached a car, took out a hunting carbine and fired several shots into the air. After that the man left the scene and fled in an unknown direction.<\/p>\n

No one was injured as a result of the shooting.<\/p>\n

During investigative operations, police officers identified the suspect. He turned out to be a 38-year-old<\/strong> resident of Mykolaiv<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The man was sent for a medical examination. The result showed 1.85\u2030 blood alcohol<\/strong>. The hunting carbine was seized by the police.<\/p>\n

Investigators notified the Mykolaiv resident of suspicion under part 4<\/strong> of article 296<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2013 hooliganism committed with the use of a weapon.<\/p>\n

The penalty under the article provides for up to seven years<\/strong> imprisonment.<\/p>\n

Authorities are currently establishing all circumstances and any other possible participants in the conflict. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the suspect’s guilt must be determined by the court.<\/p>\n
