It involves laying <strong>23 kilometers of new water mains<\/strong>, which should reduce water losses on the way to consumers. This was reported on<strong> 9 July<\/strong> 2026 by the <strong>Municipal Enterprise &#8220;Mykolaivvodokanal&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The project is funded by <strong>Denmark<\/strong> through the country&#8217;s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and its implementation is managed by the Nordic Environmental Finance Corporation <strong>NEFCO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The water utility explained that &#8220;non-revenue&#8221; refers to water that has already been supplied to the network but did not reach consumers and was not paid for. The main cause of such losses is <strong>worn and damaged pipes<\/strong>. Because of leaks the company loses income, the city spends additional resources producing water, and residents may face interruptions and deterioration in service quality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For <strong>Mykolaiv<\/strong> <strong>this problem is especially acute<\/strong> due to infrastructure damage caused by the war and the loss of stable sources of quality water.
