In Kyiv on July 7, 2026<\/strong> a Day of Mourning was declared for the people killed by Russia during a massive combined attack on the capital. This was reported on July 6<\/strong> by the mayor Vitali Klitschko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the city’s decision and the measures introduced in memory of the deceased, Vitali Klitschko noted:<\/p>\n

“Tomorrow, July 7, has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv. In memory of the victims of the enemy’s most massive attack on the capital.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On that day flags will be lowered on all municipal buildings in the city. Government institutions and owners of private buildings were also recommended to lower national flags. The holding of any entertainment events in the capital on July 7 is prohibited.<\/p>\n

As of the morning of July 6<\/strong> the number of deaths resulting from the nighttime Russian strike had risen to 11 people<\/strong>. One of the wounded men died in hospital. In total 46 people<\/strong> were injured, of whom 27<\/strong> were hospitalized. Among those taken to hospitals were three children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Reporting the latest medical data on the victims and the injured, Vitali Klitschko said:<\/p>\n

“According to medical personnel, there are currently 11 victims of the enemy’s night attack on Kyiv. One of the wounded men died in hospital this morning. 46 people were injured. 27 of them were hospitalized by medics. This includes three children.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Damage and destruction were recorded in four districts of Kyiv<\/strong>. The worst consequences are in the Podilskyi district<\/strong>; Russian strikes also hit residential high-rises in the Darnytskyi district<\/strong>. The aftermath of the attack is also being dealt with in the Obolonskyi<\/strong> and Holosiivskyi districts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS), at least 15 residential buildings<\/strong> were damaged or destroyed. Search-and-rescue operations continue in the Podilskyi and Darnytskyi districts: emergency teams are clearing rubble and looking for people who may remain under the debris.<\/p>\n
