In Mykolaiv<\/strong>, law enforcement officers quickly detained a man suspected of a street robbery<\/strong>. This was reported on 3 July <\/strong>2026 by the Mykolaiv Oblast Police<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, a report of the crime was received on the emergency line 102<\/strong> after midnight on 1 July<\/strong>. A 59-year-old woman<\/strong> said she was returning home from work when an unknown man approached her on Andriy Pokrovsky Street<\/strong> near an apartment building. The attacker hit her in the face<\/strong> and openly took a bag that contained a mobile phone<\/strong> and 1,700 hryvnias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Patrol officers, an investigative team and operatives from the Police Station No. 1 of the Mykolaiv District Department<\/strong> were dispatched to the scene. The victim provided a description of the attacker, and within an hour the police established his whereabouts. The suspect turned out to be a 41-year-old Mykolaiv resident<\/strong> who, according to the police, had previously been held accountable for a similar crime. After the robbery he went for coffee at a gas station<\/strong> nearby, where law enforcement officers found him.<\/p>\n

The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. Under the procedural supervision of the district prosecutor’s office of the city of Mykolaiv<\/strong> he was notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 robbery committed under martial law<\/strong>. The article\u2019s penalty provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment<\/strong>. Currently, law enforcement officers are checking whether the suspect is involved in other crimes. The court is expected to choose a preventive measure for him in the near future.<\/p>\n
