{"id":596253,"date":"2026-07-03T10:38:50","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T07:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/2026\/07\/596253\/pseudo-crypto-exchangers-in-seven-regions-uah-20-million-seized-scheme-uncovered-after-a-controlled-purchase\/"},"modified":"2026-07-03T10:38:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T07:38:53","slug":"pseudo-crypto-exchangers-in-seven-regions-uah-20-million-seized-scheme-uncovered-after-a-controlled-purchase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/en\/2026\/07\/596253\/pseudo-crypto-exchangers-in-seven-regions-uah-20-million-seized-scheme-uncovered-after-a-controlled-purchase\/","title":{"rendered":"Pseudo-crypto exchangers in seven regions: UAH 20 million seized, scheme uncovered after a controlled purchase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Ukraine, law enforcement uncovered an extensive network of fake crypto exchange services that, posing as a legitimate service, appropriated clients&#8217; funds across the country, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to the investigation, in <strong>7<\/strong> regions more than <strong>20<\/strong> searches were conducted, as a result of which it was established that under the sign of a currency and cryptoasset exchange service there was in fact a scheme for the illegal appropriation of citizens&#8217; money.<\/p>\n<p>The organizers carefully disguised the activity as a regular business: they created a website, implemented a system for submitting requests, communicated with clients via Telegram and confirmation codes, and also built a network of so\u2011called cash acceptance points in various regions, which created trust in the allegedly real financial service.<\/p>\n<p>The interaction algorithm with victims was standardized: after submitting a request a &#8220;manager&#8221; contacted the person, provided the request number, confirmation code and the address of the exchange location where citizens brought cash.<\/p>\n<p>After handing over the money clients received neither cryptocurrency nor a refund, and in response heard explanations about &#8220;delays&#8221; and postponed operations; during a controlled purchase the scheme participants likewise appropriated <strong>50<\/strong> thousand hryvnias following the established scenario.<\/p>\n<p>During the searches cash in various foreign currencies and hryvnias totaling more than <strong>20<\/strong> million hryvnias was seized.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are preparing notices of suspicion to the participants on charges of fraud committed by prior collusion of a group of persons; identification of all suspects \u2014 from organizers to the perpetrators who directly received money from citizens \u2014 is ongoing.<\/p>\n<h3>Earlier we wrote:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/en\/2026\/06\/593827\/more-than-4-000-users-the-national-police-detained-the-developers-of-the-fake-rezerv\/\">Over 4,000 users: The National Police detained the developers of the fake &#8220;Rezerv+&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/2024\/02\/438625\/hlobalna-operatsiia-sbu-razom-z-partneramy-vykryla-mizhnarodne-uhrupovannia-khakeriv-vymahachiv\/\">Global operation: The SBU together with partners exposed an international group of hacker-extortionists<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The scheme ran like clockwork: a call from a manager, the request number, the confirmation code and the address of the pickup point \u2014 and then the money disappeared and \"delays\".
