Abnormal heat is creating additional strain on Mykolaiv’s public electric transport.<\/strong> Extremely high temperatures can cause rails, overhead lines, electrical equipment and air-conditioning systems to overheat. This was reported on July 2 <\/strong>, 2026 by the municipal enterprise of the Mykolaiv City Council \u201cMykolaiv Electrotrans\u201d<\/strong>. The enterprise noted that the period of abnormal heat has covered Ukraine and a large part of Europe. Even in countries with modern transport systems, such weather conditions cause delays and malfunctions of climate-control equipment.<\/p>\n

Before departing on routes, trolleybuses and other rolling stock undergo a daily technical inspection.<\/strong> If defects are found, specialists carry out repairs or replace the vehicle with a reserve one<\/strong>. \u201cMykolaiv Electrotrans\u201d also said they receive passenger reports about non-working air conditioners<\/strong> in some trolleybuses and respond to every message.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the enterprise emphasized that at extremely high temperatures even properly functioning climate equipment can operate at the limit of its technical capabilities<\/strong>. For this reason, some malfunctions cannot be fully predicted or prevented. If an air conditioner is running in the cabin, passengers are asked not to open the windows.<\/strong> Open windows reduce the cooling efficiency because cool air quickly leaves the cabin and the system works under increased load.<\/p>\n

A malfunctioning air conditioner can be reported to the hotline of the municipal enterprise \u201cMykolaiv Electrotrans\u201d<\/strong> at: 095 084 38 04.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When reporting, you must indicate the route number, the vehicle’s fleet number and the approximate time of the trip<\/strong>. This will help the enterprise staff locate the vehicle faster and fix the malfunction.<\/p>\n
