The water leaving Mykolaiv’s treatment facilities already meets sanitary standards for the vast majority of chemical and bacteriological indicators. At the same time, using tap water for drinking and food preparation is still not recommended.<\/p>\n

This was reported on June 24, 2026 by Mykolaiv’s mayor Oleksandr Senkevych<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to him, transparency, bacteriological safety, hardness and chloride content have returned to the level of the peaceful 2021<\/strong> year.<\/p>\n

“This is the result of great and painstaking work by many specialists. We cannot detail our work for security reasons, but it continues every day”, \u2014 the mayor said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At the same time, the condition of the city’s water supply networks continues to directly affect the quality of water in taps. After prolonged use of salty water, the pipes have suffered damage and corrosion, so they require flushing and restoration.<\/p>\n

Because treated water passes through old and worn networks, its quality can partially change on the way to consumers.<\/p>\n

There is also one indicator at the treatment plant outlet that still does not fully meet standards \u2014 oxidizability. Specialists are monitoring it and continuing work to bring the water to the required parameters.<\/p>\n

For now, tap water can be used for showers, laundry, cleaning and other household needs.<\/p>\n

For drinking and cooking, residents are advised to use treated water from free distribution points and to be sure to boil it before consumption.<\/p>\n

According to the mayor, more than 250 distribution points for treated water are operating in Mykolaiv. Their addresses can be found on a special online city map.<\/p>\n

Work to restore the water supply networks and stabilize water quality continues.<\/p>\n
