The director of the communal enterprise of the Halytsynivska community<\/strong> is suspected of purchasing a non-residential building at a significantly inflated price. According to experts, as a result of the concluded deal the enterprise suffered losses totaling more than 1.2 million hryvnias<\/strong>. This was reported by the Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong> police on 24 June<\/strong> 2026.<\/p>\n

According to law enforcement, the subject of the criminal proceeding is a 55-year-old<\/strong> director of the communal enterprise who works in the Halytsynivska community<\/strong>. The investigation believes that the official, using his position contrary to the interests of the enterprise, organized the purchase of a non-residential building at a price that significantly exceeded its true market value<\/strong>. According to the authorities, the purpose of these actions was to obtain unlawful benefit for the seller of the property<\/strong>. The director concluded the purchase agreement on behalf of the communal enterprise. At the same time, a proper independent and objective valuation of the property<\/strong> was not conducted<\/strong> before the purchase.<\/p>\n

During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement ordered expert examinations. Their results confirmed that as a result of purchasing the building at an inflated price the communal enterprise suffered losses of more than 1.2 million hryvnias<\/strong>. Based on the collected evidence, the director of the communal enterprise was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. This concerns abuse of power or official position to obtain unlawful benefit for another legal entity, which caused serious consequences. If found guilty, the official faces up to 6 years<\/strong> of imprisonment<\/strong>. The court may also deprive him of the right to hold certain positions or engage in specified activities for up to 3 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As of 24 June 2026<\/strong>, law enforcement was considering the issue of applying a preventive measure to the suspect. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine<\/strong>, a person is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven in the manner prescribed by law and confirmed by a guilty verdict of a court.<\/p>\n
