In Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong>, about 119.7 thousand<\/strong> internally displaced persons (IDPs) are registered, of whom 38 thousand<\/strong> arrived from Kherson Oblast<\/strong>. At the same time, about 1000 places<\/strong> have been prepared in the region for the temporary accommodation of displaced people. The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim<\/strong>, spoke about the housing situation for IDPs on the broadcast of “Novyny.LIVE”.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to the regional head, the commission on housing certificates has already made decisions totaling about 2 billion hryvnias<\/strong>. Payments are made by the relevant ministries, and assistance is provided directly to the people who need it.<\/p>\n

Talking about housing certificates and places for accommodating displaced people, Vitaliy Kim<\/strong> noted:<\/p>\n

“The commission for Mykolaiv Oblast on certificates has already made decisions for 2 billion hryvnias<\/strong>, the funds are paid by the ministries. We have prepared not many places \u2013 about 1000<\/strong> \u2013 and we are accommodating people there. There are many programs in operation; the money follows the person who needs help.”.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Since 2023<\/strong> a project worth 4 billion hryvnias<\/strong> has been announced in the Mykolaiv region<\/strong>, which envisages the construction of 100,000 square meters<\/strong> of housing for IDPs. However, according to Vitaliy Kim<\/strong>, funding for it has not yet been allocated. Instead, the region is already implementing a modular housing program. In 8 communities<\/strong>, 75 houses<\/strong> have been built, where people already live. Another 50 dwellings<\/strong> are being built in 4 communities<\/strong>, including in Bashtanka<\/strong>. Houses are transferred into the ownership of communities, which can settle displaced people there with the needed professions \u2014 doctors, police officers, rescuers and other specialists. In this way, communities simultaneously provide people with housing and try to address the problem of staff shortages.<\/p>\n

Describing modular neighborhoods and assistance from international partners, Vitaliy Kim<\/strong> added:<\/p>\n

“The project was very well received by communities; whole neighborhoods are appearing, they are called “Copenhagen” \u2014 the country that finances it. Infrastructure for children and sports grounds are being built there. It is a piece of Europe within a small community.”.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite the construction of a total of 125 modular houses<\/strong> and the operation of housing certificate programs, the need remains significantly greater than the available capacity. For nearly 120 thousand displaced people<\/strong>, the region currently has about 1000 prepared places<\/strong>, and the large-scale permanent housing project worth 4 billion hryvnias<\/strong> remains unfunded.<\/p>\n
