In the Odesa region<\/strong>, large-scale searches have been underway for the third day for a 10-year-old<\/strong> girl who was carried out into the open sea on an inflatable ring while swimming.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on the morning of 19 June 2026<\/strong> near the village of Sychavka in Odesa district<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa Oblast reported on the progress of the search-and-rescue operation. According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the girl was resting with her great-grandmother on an unauthorized beach near one of the recreation bases. Swimming in this location is prohibited. There is no equipped lifeguard post on the site, and the shore and seabed have not been inspected by specialists.<\/p>\n

While swimming, the child was on an inflatable ring. A strong current quickly carried her away from the shore into the open sea.<\/p>\n

The great-grandmother tried to reach and rescue the girl but was unable to overcome the current.<\/p>\n

The search operation began the same day. As of 21 June 2026<\/strong>, the child’s whereabouts remain unknown.<\/p>\n

Since the start of the search, specialists have examined about 6 km<\/strong> of the coastline.<\/p>\n

Rescuers also checked 210 ha<\/strong> of water surface and 4.5 ha<\/strong> of seabed.<\/p>\n

Divers, rescuers, unmanned systems specialists and psychologists from the State Emergency Service are involved in the search operation.<\/p>\n

Unmanned aerial vehicles are used to survey large areas of the water and coastline from the air. Underwater sections are inspected by divers and specialized equipment.<\/p>\n

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service are working with the relatives of the missing child, providing them with necessary support during the prolonged search operation.<\/p>\n
