Mykolaiv native, Olympic fencing champion Olha Kharlan<\/strong> has become a mother. After the birth of the child the six-time<\/strong> Olympic medalist posted an update on social media.<\/p>\n

The athlete gave birth to a daughter, who was named Arianna<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For Mykolaiv this news has special significance: Olha Kharlan is one of the city’s most famous natives, an athlete who for years has brought fame to Ukraine<\/strong> on the world stage and remains a symbol of strength, dignity and steadfast principles.<\/p>\n

Olha Kharlan is the most decorated Ukrainian athlete in the history of the Olympic Games. She has \u2014 6<\/strong> Olympic medals to her name, including the team “gold” of Paris 2024<\/strong>, which the Ukrainian sabre fencers won in the final against South Korea.<\/p>\n

It was after the 2024 Olympics<\/strong> that Kharlan finally cemented her status as a sporting legend of Ukraine. She became not only the record-holder for the number of Olympic medals among Ukrainian athletes, but also one of those who, during the full-scale war, speak openly about Russian aggression and support Ukrainian defenders.<\/p>\n

Earlier the athlete announced that she was expecting a child, posted touching photos and shared moments of preparing for a new chapter in her life.<\/p>\n

Despite the birth of her daughter, Olha Kharlan has not announced the end of her sporting career. According to the information provided, she has taken a pause due to pregnancy and the birth of the child.<\/p>\n

Now a new chapter begins in the life of the Mykolaiv sabre fencer \u2014 motherhood.
