The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubynets<\/strong>, criticized the organization of the National Multidisciplinary Test<\/strong>, saying that the exam is increasingly becoming a test of endurance rather than an assessment of knowledge, as he reported on his Telegram channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Formally it’s about knowledge. In fact, more and more \u2014 about endurance, nerves and technical luck,” wrote Dmytro Lubynets<\/strong> on Telegram<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The ombudsman emphasized that teenagers are forced to take as many as 4<\/strong> subjects in a row without breaks, which leads to exhaustion, and the process is accompanied by technical failures: frozen computers, faulty equipment and incorrect display of tasks.<\/p>\n

As an example, he cited the story of a medalist and winner of a national olympiad who, because of technical problems, lost time during the exam and was never given the opportunity to retake the NMT.<\/p>\n

Another report of shortcomings came from a history teacher with 18<\/strong> years of experience, who pointed out an uneven distribution of tasks in the test and the appearance of questions that go beyond the school curriculum.<\/p>\n

The situation became particularly critical in the Odesa region<\/strong>, where, due to an announced air raid alert, the administration of the NMT stretched for more than 13 hours<\/strong>, and children had to stay in shelters without access to water and food, which caused severe exhaustion and put the objectivity of the obtained results into question.<\/p>\n

“After such a marathon, children report a loss of concentration and an inability to properly complete tasks. This calls into question the equality of conditions and the fairness of assessment,” noted Dmytro Lubynets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to him, organizing the NMT under martial law<\/strong> is a failure of the system, which guarantees neither safety nor equal opportunities for applicants, so he demands an immediate response and solutions from the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n

Against this background, it was reported that more than 350 thousand<\/strong> Ukrainians have already registered for NMT-2026<\/strong>, and interest in entering higher education institutions has been growing for the 3rd<\/strong> year in a row.<\/p>\n
