In the center of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, a city resident publicly complained about the placement of bus stops on a narrow section of the road. The appeal appeared on the Facebook page of the Contact Center at the Mykolaiv<\/strong> City Council.<\/p>\n

The complaint concerns the intersection of Kropyvnytskoho<\/strong> (Potemkinska<\/strong>) and Blahovisnoho<\/strong> (Nikolska<\/strong>) streets, where, according to the author, public transport stops are located on both sides of the intersection. Because of this, as the resident claims, buses effectively block traffic when passengers disembark.<\/p>\n

The problem, he says, is exacerbated by cars parked next to the stops. Because of this, public transport cannot always properly pull up to the boarding and alighting points and is forced to stop in the second lane. As a result, congestion forms on the narrow section of the road and traffic movement becomes difficult.<\/p>\n

The author urged the relevant city services to visit the site and review the placement of the stops. In his view, they should either be moved so they do not obstruct traffic flow or removed from this section entirely.<\/p>\n

Separately, the resident noted that the official who approved such a scheme for placing the stops should be held accountable. He claims the decision may have been made without an actual site visit and without assessing the situation on the ground.<\/p>\n

The appeal also noted that one stop already exists before the bridge on the right toward Varvarivka<\/strong>. If an additional stop is truly necessary, the author suggests considering the use of tram stops on Kropyvnytskoho<\/strong> Street.<\/p>\n

Regarding the opposite side of the road, opposite the building “Astoria<\/strong>”, the resident proposed installing a public transport stop sign and temporarily directing parking inspectors there. In his opinion, this would help stop chaotic parking and allow buses to stop properly at the curb instead of in the middle of the road.<\/p>\n

After the appeal was published on social media, residents actively joined the discussion. Some commenters agreed that the current traffic arrangement creates congestion and needs change. Others noted that within this stretch it is almost impossible to find alternative places for full bus stops.<\/p>\n
