The space was created with the support of international donors \u2014 the <strong data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1553\">Danish Refugee Council<\/strong> (<strong data-start=\"1555\" data-end=\"1562\">DRC<\/strong>) and financed by the <strong data-start=\"1583\" data-end=\"1623\">Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1860\">The educational institution previously had a shelter, but after a nearby gymnasium was destroyed, the lyceum took in its students. As a result, the existing safe space was no longer sufficient for the normal organization of the educational process during the war.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1862\" data-end=\"2075\">The city received assistance from international partners. Over <strong data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"1922\">13 months<\/strong>, a technical basement was transformed into an additional full-fledged shelter equipped with everything necessary for the prolonged and safe stay of the lyceum\u2019s children and staff.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2077\" data-end=\"2414\">Representatives of the donors and city and regional authorities attended the opening of the space. Among them were Deputy Mayor <strong data-start=\"2197\" data-end=\"2215\">Serhiy Korenev<\/strong>, head of the <strong data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2260\">Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim<\/strong>, head of the <strong data-start=\"2277\" data-end=\"2321\">Embassy of Denmark office in Mykolaiv Jakob Hansen<\/strong>, director of the Representation of the <strong data-start=\"2347\" data-end=\"2413\">Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine Julian Zakrzewski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2416\" data-end=\"2766\">The area of the new shelter is <strong data-start=\"2447\" data-end=\"2460\">400 sq. m<\/strong>. A full range of construction and installation works was carried out here: soil was removed to increase the height of the room, the floor, walls and ceiling were finished, electrical and plumbing networks, ventilation, fire alarm and video surveillance were installed. It has everything necessary for safe and comfortable learning for an extended period. Unfortunately, we see that attacks by Russia continue and we need to keep investing precisely in this area of security for children. Over these three years we have equipped more than 60 shelters in Mykolaiv and the region and will continue to work in this direction. We coordinate all needs with the city and region and thus ensure that we are truly supporting the people of Mykolaiv and doing what they need,&#8221; &#8211; Jakob Hansen said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"3680\" data-end=\"3996\">The new shelter is completely autonomous. It is equipped with an alternative power supply system consisting of a hybrid inverter with a capacity of <strong data-start=\"3828\" data-end=\"3837\">8 kW<\/strong> and battery storage with a total capacity of <strong data-start=\"3881\" data-end=\"3895\">15 kWh<\/strong>. This is intended to ensure uninterrupted operation of all systems in the room during power outages.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3998\" data-end=\"4089\">In addition to outfitting the shelter, donors also replaced damaged windows and doors in the lyceum itself.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4091\" data-end=\"4303\">The lyceum director <strong data-start=\"4106\" data-end=\"4117\">Oleksii<\/strong> said that after the basement reconstruction the institution received not just a renovated shelter but a space that can operate even without electricity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4305\" data-end=\"4650\">&#8220;After the basement reconstruction, a major renovation was carried out here. And most importantly \u2014 an inverter with a 15-kilowatt battery was installed. All systems \u2014 ventilation, pumps, sewage \u2014 will all work even without power. I sincerely thank all partners, everyone who participated in the renovation of this room,&#8221; said the lyceum director, Mr. Oleksii.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4652\" data-end=\"4948\">Deputy Mayor <strong data-start=\"4678\" data-end=\"4696\">Serhiy Korenev<\/strong> thanked the <strong data-start=\"4707\" data-end=\"4728\">Kingdom of Denmark<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"4730\" data-end=\"4737\">DRC<\/strong> and other partners for supporting <strong data-start=\"4770\" data-end=\"4783\">Mykolaiv<\/strong>. According to him, restoring schools, equipping shelters and repairing social facilities is not only a matter of infrastructure but also a condition for people to return to the city.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p data-start=\"4950\" data-end=\"5442\">&#8220;We are very pleased to have partners like the Kingdom of Denmark and DRC. This is a huge support for our city and its residents. By restoring schools, building shelters and repairing social facilities, thanks to the support of our donors and partners, we are effectively restoring a comfortable life and creating conditions for people to return to the city. Therefore this work and support are invaluable to us.
