In Mykolaiv<\/strong>, police within a day located and returned home two missing underage girls; reports of their absence were received a few hours apart on June 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The regional police informed about both cases and the results of the searches, noting that the reports were received by units of the city police a few hours apart.<\/p>\n

The first call was recorded on the evening of June 1<\/strong>: the mother of a 12-year-old<\/strong> child said that her daughter had gone out during the day with a friend and had not returned, and did not answer phone calls, which caused concern for the parents.<\/p>\n

Search measures involved inspectors from the juvenile prevention sector of the Mykolaiv<\/strong> District Police Department, an investigative-operational team, and canine handlers with service dogs.<\/p>\n

Within an hour, law enforcement officers established the child’s location: she had been nearby the house the whole time with her friend and could not contact her mother because her phone had run out of battery.<\/p>\n

Later that same evening another mother of a 12-year-old<\/strong> girl contacted the police, saying that after an argument early on June 1<\/strong> her daughter left in an unknown direction, leaving her phone at home, and the family had no idea where she might be.<\/p>\n

During joint search efforts the police located the minor, who explained that she had decided to spend time with friends and did not inform her mother of her plans.<\/p>\n

Juvenile police held preventive talks with both girls and their relatives, and also reminded parents to carefully monitor their children’s emotional state, their circle of acquaintances and leisure activities, and to respond promptly to changes in behavior; in case a child goes missing, one should immediately call the emergency hotline 102<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
