{"id":591093,"date":"2026-06-02T10:54:35","date_gmt":"2026-06-02T07:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/2026\/06\/591093\/fatal-step-on-the-zebra-in-mykolaiv-a-woman-died-after-being-hit-by-a-municipal-bus\/"},"modified":"2026-06-02T10:54:38","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T07:54:38","slug":"fatal-step-on-the-zebra-in-mykolaiv-a-woman-died-after-being-hit-by-a-municipal-bus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/en\/2026\/06\/591093\/fatal-step-on-the-zebra-in-mykolaiv-a-woman-died-after-being-hit-by-a-municipal-bus\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatal step on the \"zebra\": in Mykolaiv a woman died after being hit by a municipal bus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"114\" data-end=\"362\">In <strong data-start=\"116\" data-end=\"129\">Mykolaiv<\/strong>, law enforcement officers are investigating a fatal road traffic accident involving a municipal bus and a pedestrian that occurred during the day on <strong data-start=\"272\" data-end=\"294\">1 June 2026<\/strong> near the &#8220;Magellan&#8221; shopping center on Heroes of Ukraine Avenue.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"637\">According to the police, at around <strong data-start=\"396\" data-end=\"405\">14:10<\/strong> a <strong data-start=\"406\" data-end=\"419\">66-year-old<\/strong> driver of the bus <strong data-start=\"435\" data-end=\"448\">SOR NB 12<\/strong>, which was carrying passengers on route No. 1 &#8220;Ternivka microdistrict \u2013 Ocean plant&#8221;, struck a <strong data-start=\"538\" data-end=\"550\">68-year-old<\/strong> woman. At that moment she was crossing the roadway at a signal-controlled pedestrian crossing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"792\">The victim sustained severe bodily injuries. Medics hospitalized the woman, but they were unable to save her \u2014 she died from her injuries.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"1048\">Investigators have opened a criminal case under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2014 violation of traffic safety rules that caused the death of a victim. The article&#8217;s sanction provides punishment of up to <strong data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1047\">eight years in prison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"1048\"><a href=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/photo_2026-06-02_10-25-02-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-591071\" src=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/photo_2026-06-02_10-25-02-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/photo_2026-06-02_10-25-02-2.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/photo_2026-06-02_10-25-02-2-999x999.jpg 999w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1212\">Authorities are currently establishing key circumstances of the tragedy, in particular which traffic light signal the bus was moving on and which signal the deceased woman was crossing on.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1443\">The Transport Crime Investigation Department is appealing to possible witnesses of the incident.
